Darryl Mabini

Darryl Mabini has over 20 years of experience in the pension industry and is currently at the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP). HOOPP is a jointly sponsored DB plan for Ontario’s hospital and community-based health care sector with over $114 billion in assets. HOOPP has more than 620 participating employers and over 419,000 active, retired and deferred members. Mabini leads HOOPP’s stakeholder relations and research function, which consists of pension advocacy and research. His role also involves outreach to a variety of stakeholders, including members and employers, unions, pension industry experts and associations, and health care sector advocacy groups. Mabini is a member of the Advisory Council to the National Institute on Ageing at Ryerson University and treasurer of the board of
directors for Credit Canada. He holds a global executive M.B.A. degree from both the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, and the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and a bachelor of science degree from McMaster University.
