Bobbi Taillefer

Bobbi Taillefer joined the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation as the executive director in March 2021. Leading a complex organization with five distinct business units, Taillefer and her senior leadership team have responsibilities and oversight of a $7 billion teachers’ pension plan, self-insured teacher benefits plans, a professional development unit, a professional resource library, as well as bargaining and labour relations. After growing up in Ontario, Taillefer moved to Manitoba and started her career as a teacher and principal at both the elementary and high school levels. She then went on to work for the Manitoba Teachers’ Society for 21 years, starting as a staff officer in labour relations, then becoming deputy general secretary, finally serving as general secretary. Taillefer moved back to Ontario in 2018, where she assumed the role of deputy general secretary with the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario, Canada’s largest teacher organization. She has experience in matters including labour relations, bargaining, principal representation, French language services, Indigenous education and professional issues. Taillefer has volunteered extensively on many community initiatives. She was the former president of the Winnipeg Humane Society and was part of the capital campaign to raise $14 million for a new state-of-the-art LEADS facility. Taillefer is a director on the Canadian Teachers’ Federation Board, the Leonard Foundation Board, the Forks North Portage Development Corp Board and the Taking Charge! Board. Taillefer holds a law and economics diploma from Aix-Marseilles University, France, a bachelor of arts degree in political science, a master of education in educational administration from the University of Manitoba and a human resources certificate from Cornell University. She also holds certificates in bargaining from Queens University and Harvard as well as in governance training from International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (FTMS®, ATMS™ and MTMS).
